Program Description


Description

The Graphic Design provides students with the creative, technical and communication skills required in one of today s fastest growing fields.

Students in the program will learn to solve visual communication problems through a comprehensive program of study that incorporates basic design principles, color theory and typography, and advanced production techniques. Since Graphic Design is an aesthetic and technical discipline, students will learn to apply theories and historical research in the creation of visual and written information.

Students in the Graphic Design program make use of current technology as an integral part of their visual communication exploration.

Educational aims

Graduates from the 4 years program graduation are expected to achieve the following:

- Establish a successful career in the broad areas of
  graphical design.

To enable students to apply their knowledge and
  understanding in various aspects of graphic design,     be 
  able to solve problems, designing and similar.

To prepare students for professional work in graphic design
  using computer programs.

Assessment Strategy

Assessment is in the majority of courses, via tutor-marked assignments, set at intervals through the course, together with an end-of-course examination. Some subjects at the end of the course have a special project or engagement, rather than classic test.

Learning outcomes

- Ability to draw objects and characters with free hand.

Creating own fonts that can implement in a variety of
  graphical elements and images.

An ability to make corporative image of firms (logo,
  business cards, letterhead, envelopes).

Making various promotional materials (posters, flyers,
  brochures, calendars, catalogs, etc.).

Creating multimedia projects consist of text, graphics,
  photos, animation, video, sound, etc.

Career Opportunities

The program gives graduates a wide range of distinguished career opportunities.
Graduates can entry to a graphics career as an assistant or freelance designer, as an editor in a  facilities house  or production company, an art editor or magazine designer, a corporate designer, art director, or advertising creative.
