History of University


International Balkan University is an education instution which was founded by Skopje Education and Culture Development Foundation. Skopje Education and Culture Development Foundation was founded in February 2006, and later this foundation has pioneered the founding of International Balkan University.

Skopje Education and Culture Development Foundation was founded  by financial and moral support of Hasan Osman Çelik, M.Şükrü Koçoğlu, Remzi Gür, Mustafa Demir from Turkey and Prof. Dr. Abdurauf Pruthi, Avni Engüllü ve Prof. Dr. Remzi Nesimi from Republic of Macedonia. Skopje Education and Culture Development  Foundation founded by cooperation of Macedonian and Turkish businessmen, is a Foundation of Macedonia. 

Skopje Education and Culture Development Foundation is managed by (a) Trustees of Foundation  and (b) Management Board of Foundation. Hasan Osman Celik was the chairman of management board at the founding stage of both Foundation and University. When founding of foundation was finished, the management board was decided to open a university. Later on, to speed up the establishment of the university; University Council was established. The University establishment process was started by the guidance of University Council.

The University started its education in preparatory school in 2006-2007 education year, and  in 2007-2008 education year with two faculties besides preparatory school. The names of these faculties are as follows:

-The New Balkan Faculty became The Economic and Administrative  Sciences Faculty; the dean of the faculty is Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka.

-The New Balkan Technical Sciences Faculty; the dean of the faculty is Prof. Dr. Abdurauf Pruthi.

The establishment and accreditaion of Preparatory School with the two faculties has been completed by the period of first founding rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ziya Irbeç and in 2006 the education was started by registration of seven students into Preparatory School.
