Course Success Reports

Course Success Report is one of the other quality management tools of International Balkan University. The purpose of these reports is to evaluate the success rate of each semester courses of different departments and to determine the number and rate of failing students in the "repeated course" status. From these reports, the following issues are investigated.

- What is the rate of the falling students in comparison with attending students?

- In which courses is the rate of failing students very high? What are the causes of this?

- What is the rate of failing students among the ones with scholarship and in the paid students? Which is higher?

- In what lessons do students have to enter the make-up exams in the biggest numbers?  What is the success rate after the make-up exams?

- In what extent are students concerned with Make-up 2 exams?

- What is the rate of not taking make-up exams?

- To what extent is the correlation between students attending classes and with their success or failure rate strong?

Course Success Reports are treated and evaluated first at Academic and Teaching Councils. In this exam evaluation, the definition of success in the exams of faculty members is considered high or low. Realization of the normal distribution curve is examined in course success. Faculty members with largely successful or failing are asked to give feedback and make an assessment. It is decided whether this assessment is reasonable, justifiable and realistic. 100% of the students could be reasonably successful; in a similar manner, 100% of the students could fail. The important thing about the comments made by faculty members is that members of the commission should be convinced of common sense, reasonable, justifiable and realistic assessment of the faculty members. Otherwise, some of the faculty member shall be advised.

Course Success Reports later are taken at Rector's Board. But these assessments are more common at Rector’s .The details are not entered in this evaluation. Only failure is considered and the reasons are investigated particularly for noteworthy lessons. If necessary, faculty members are invited for more information. In this regard the things to do by the university administration, pro-rector, deans of faculty, student affairs, and students need to be determined. The improvement of the situation needs to be taken into more reasonable bounds for next semester or next year.

Course Success Reports are prepared in two copies. A copy is stored in the archives of Deans of faculties and the second copy is preserved in the archives of the Rector’s Management.

Course Success Report is prepared within two weeks after the Make-up 2 exams and delivered to the Secretary General

Faculty Deans are responsible for preparing gathering, evaluating and delivering the Course Success Report at the Academic Teaching Council.
