Information About Upgrade Exams

Dear colleagues,

I would like to inform you about the following:

1. The upgrade exams should be organized by you. If you get information about the students who would like to enter the Upgrade Exam, please define the schedule for your exam and announce it.

2. The exam should be in different day than the Make-up-1 Exam.

3. The Upgrade questions should be different than the Final and Make-up Exam questions.

Please find enclosed the rules for this type of exams which are given in the Upgrade Exam Results template:

“Upgrade exam points are evaluated based on 100 point system.

Upgrade exams will be made separately from make-up exams.

Upgrade exams are given only once.

Upgrade exams questions cannot be the same with make-up exam questions.

Upgrade exam results are registered in the “Upgrade Exam Result Form”.

If a student decides to take an upgrade exam, he/she first should apply to Students Affairs with a written petition.

If a student entered to upgrade exam without the petition, his/her exam result would be cancelled.

Professors can not take any student to Upgrade Exam without getting a list of those students from Student Affairs Office.

The last grade that is taken from the “upgrade exam” is valid from that point on. That is, if student fails in the upgrade exam, he/she has to repeat the course.

Upgrade exams can be done only for the related semesters, not for the previous semesters.

Upgrade exams are connected to final exam results; midterm and makeup exams cannot be upgraded.

If a student gives up taking upgrade exam after the petition, that petition is cancelled.

In the “Upgrade Exam Form” old and new Success Points/Grades are registered together”

The Information about Upgrade exam rules for the students will be announced on the boards.
