The success story of the International Balkan University began in 2006. The Foundation for Education and Culture “USKUP” was founded by a group of intellectuals and academicians (scholars) to establish the INTERNATIONAL BALKAN UNIVERSITY as a cultural bridge between the Balkans and Turkey, with the intent of increasing the quality level of human capital in the region.
As a provider of high-quality education, International Balkan University has adopted the mission of educating self-confident, multidimensional, socially responsible and globally competitive individuals. In addition, the university produces high-quality scientific research that will contribute to technological and economic development in the region. Associated Professor Biljana Chavkoska holds a doctoral degree in legal sciences from the Faculty of Law Iustinianus Primus, University St. Cyril and Methodius, Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. She finished her doctoral studies in April 2010, successfully defending the thesis “Freedom of movement of workers from third countries into the European Union”. During the period from 2005-2010 she was working as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Faculty of Law at FON University and during 2010-1015 as an Assistant Professor. In the academic year 2014/2015 she was visiting professor at the state University St. Kliment Ohridski, Faculty of Law, Kicevo. She also has experience working as Consultant and Researcher in ERAZMUS+ Projects for the Institute for Research in Environment, Civil Engineering, and Energy. In 2017 she was elected as a full-time professor at the International Balkan University. During the 13 years of scientific work, Professor Chavkoska had published books, chapters in books, scientific and expert articles in Great Britain, Germany, Turkey, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia. Her major expertise is in the area of Labor Law; Social Law and the related policies.
