International Balkan University (IBU) proudly hosted the State English Language Competition for High School Students, in collaboration with the English Language Teaching (ELT) Department from the Faculty of Education (FEDU). The competition was organized by ELTAM MK, the Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language in the Republic of North Macedonia, and accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of North Macedonia.
A total of 190 students from grades 1 to 3, accompanied by their mentors, participated in the competition. Students from the ELT Department assisted the English teachers by invigilating the exam, and for their contributions, they were awarded Certificates of Appreciation by Ms. Angelina Kostova, the Secondary School Competitions Coordinator.
During the event, the ELT Department also held an informative session for English teachers, providing valuable insights into the MA and PhD programs offered at FEDU.
This significant event is one of many organized by the ELT Department in partnership with ELTAM MK to promote English language teaching and learning. IBU is proud to contribute to the development of language education in North Macedonia and hopes to continue the tradition of hosting the State English Language Competition in the years to come.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Miroslava Pavlova Anevska, the current president of ELTAM MK, for her collaboration, as well as to all the dedicated teachers and mentors who inspire their students to excel in English. Finally, we congratulate the winners and wish them continued success in their academic journeys!
