As part of their academic development, first- and second-year students from the Department of Banking and Finance at International Balkan University (IBU) had the opportunity to participate in an insightful field visit to Halkbank's Educational Center. The visit was organized within the framework of the courses Introduction to Finance (1st year) and Money Laundering (2nd year), led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kristina Velickovska.
During the visit, representatives from Halkbank's Department for Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing provided students with valuable insights into real-world practices and regulatory frameworks. They shared practical knowledge on how financial institutions identify and prevent illicit financial activities, offering students a closer look at the mechanisms behind anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) operations.
This hands-on experience allowed IBU students to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, enhancing their understanding of the financial sector's critical role in maintaining economic integrity and security.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Halkbank for their warm hospitality and commitment to supporting education through practical learning opportunities.
