IBU Professors Shine on the Global Stage: Prestigious Best Paper Award Won at International Conference in Rome

International Balkan University (IBU) continues to affirm its academic excellence on the world stage, as two of its distinguished researchers—Asst. Prof. Dr. Xhemile Saliu from the Faculty of Law and Assistant PhD Candidate Fatime Ziberi from the Faculty of Education—have been honored with the Best Paper Award at the highly respected international conference organized by THEIRES in Rome, Italy, on May 20, 2025.

Their groundbreaking research paper, which explores the interdisciplinary link between legal and psychological support for women victims of domestic violence, received acclaim for its originality, scholarly depth, and social relevance. The work not only presented vital insights but also offered tangible policy recommendations for enhancing the reintegration process of women survivors in North Macedonia, shining a light on both their legal rights and psychological well-being.

This recognition is a testament to the academic excellence and visionary leadership of IBU. Prof. Saliu and Ms. Ziberi’s collaborative effort reflects the university’s strong commitment to innovative research, societal impact, and cross-disciplinary scholarship.

The Rome-based conference, known for bringing together leading voices in law, economics, and artificial intelligence, served as a vibrant hub for dialogue and critical thinking on some of today’s most urgent global issues. IBU’s achievement at this event underscores its rising influence in international academic circles and its unwavering dedication to nurturing thought leaders and change-makers.
