The International Balkan University (IBU) and the Ministry of European Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing institutional cooperation in the context of the country’s European integration process.
The Memorandum was signed by the IBU Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar and the Minister of European Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia Mr. Orhan Murtezani, during a working meeting held at the Ministry of European Affairs with institution's representatives and academic staff.
This partnership establishes a solid and long-term framework for collaboration in areas of mutual interest, particularly in the academic, educational, and research fields related to European integration. Minister Murtezani emphasized that such institutional partnerships are essential for the effective implementation of the European reform agenda and recognized the immense role of the International Balkan University in that regard.
The cooperation foresees joint initiatives to support capacity-building for civil servants and students, the co-organization of seminars, conferences, and workshops on key EU-related topics, and the exchange of expertise and best practices in areas such as the accession process, policy analysis, and legal harmonization with the EU acquis.
Special focus will also be placed on collaborative research projects, the preparation of studies and publications in the field of European studies and EU law.
This activity is also part of the implementation of the Jean Monnet Project EU-WB funded by the European Commission, further reinforcing the University’s role as a platform for knowledge exchange and policy dialogue in support of the major process int he country and the region.
