The KA153 Erasmus+ Project “Health in Sport, Future in Life” Successfully Concluded in Istanbul, Türkiye

The International Balkan University is proud to announce the successful completion of the KA153 Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Project “Health in Sport, Future in Life”, coordinated by the Yeşilay Sports Club (Green Crescent Türkiye) in partnership with the International Balkan University and organizations from North Macedonia, Albania, and Austria. The project took place at the Riva Youth & Sports Camp Training Center under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Bringing together 32 young participants from four different countries, the seven-day program focused on the vital role of sports in promoting physical and mental well-being and preventing addiction. Participants explored how active living can serve as a protective factor against various forms of addiction including tobacco, alcohol, gambling, and technology while also strengthening personal development, resilience, and teamwork.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in a wide range of activities, including interactive workshops, sports competitions, cultural evenings, and reflection sessions. These dynamic experiences allowed them to share ideas, develop mutual understanding, and learn about the importance of inclusion and cooperation in international youth work.

One of the key highlights of the project was the motivational session led by National Athlete Mehmet Kani Polat, who inspired the participants with his insights on discipline, motivation, and the long-term benefits of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

Representing the International Balkan University, our group of students led by Asst. Sezer Ferhad actively contributed to all phases of the program, demonstrating leadership, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to the project’s goals.

The project concluded with a strong spirit of solidarity, intercultural exchange, and shared dedication to promoting healthy living among young people across Europe.

Through such international initiatives, we at the International Balkan University reaffirm our commitment to empowering youth, fostering cross-cultural understanding, and encouraging active citizenship as part of our ongoing mission to create a healthier and more connected global community.
