As part of the NB-Biomarker project, the International Balkan University organized a special panel on World Diabetes Day titled “Healthy Life, Healthy Work: Diabetes Awareness for Everyone.” The event brought together students, academic staff, health professionals and guests, creating an important platform for promoting awareness about diabetes, early prevention and health-conscious daily routines.
The panel featured two distinguished speakers. RN Tatjana Gjorgovski presented key insights on nutrition and physical activity for individuals managing diabetes, highlighting the influence of lifestyle habits on long-term health. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radmila Dimovska emphasized the significant connection between oral health and diabetes under the theme Smile Healthy, Control Diabetes. Her presentation underscored the importance of maintaining oral hygiene as part of diabetes prevention and management.
hroughout the event, participants engaged in meaningful discussions focused on strengthening preventive approaches, understanding risk factors and adopting balanced health routines.
Through this panel, organized within the NB-Biomarker project, the International Balkan University continues to support community health, scientific outreach and public engagement by raising awareness on essential public health topics and promoting healthier living across the region.
