We are pleased to announce the official opening of the 2025 International Student Congress (IBUISC’25), marking the beginning of three days dedicated to academic exchange and forward-thinking discussion under the theme: “The Future is Now: AI, Sustainability, and Ethics in a Rapidly Evolving World.”
The ceremony opened with welcoming remarks by Prof. Dr. Lutfi Sunar, Rector of IBU, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liza Alili Sulejmani, General Coordinator of IBUISC’25 and Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences. They emphasized our university’s commitment to fostering visionary dialogue among emerging scholars and distinguished global experts.
This year’s congress brings together 66 participants from 16 countries, presenting a diverse range of abstracts that reflect rich disciplinary, cultural, and research perspectives.
The opening program continued with keynote speeches by prominent leaders in finance, governance, and technology: Mr. Berkan Imeri, Chief Finance and Risk Officer at Halk Bank; Mrs. Kaltrina Zekolli, Deputy Minister of Transport and Professor of Law; and Mr. Admirim Aliti, former Minister of Information Society and Administration and Professor of Informatics. Their addresses underscored the vital intersection of youth leadership, artificial intelligence, climate responsibility, and ethical governance in shaping future societal developments.
The first day of the congress featured a dynamic series of activities designed to inspire interdisciplinary discussion. Student lightning talks under the theme “My World, Our Future” gathered speakers from Poland, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Egypt, Spain, and Serbia, who shared thoughtful perspectives on the impact of AI and sustainability in their communities. These sessions were followed by interactive World Café roundtables, thematic discussions on AI and ethical frameworks, and collaborative exchanges focused on sustainability and future-oriented solutions.
The program advanced with an immersive interdisciplinary simulation lab and an engaging campus tour, concluding with a gala dinner that fostered meaningful networking, academic dialogue, and community-building.
Throughout the next days of the congress, students will participate in presentations, debates, guided cultural tours around Skopje, and hands-on workshops designed to deepen cross-cultural understanding and stimulate academic engagement.
IBUISC’25 stands as more than an academic gathering—it is a vibrant platform where ideas flourish, perspectives connect, and emerging leaders collaborate. The congress reflects our ongoing dedication to academic excellence, global cooperation, and proactive leadership in addressing issues of international relevance.
We invite everyone to follow the activities of this inspiring event and join us in celebrating the contributions of young scholars shaping the future.
Finally, we extend our sincere gratitude to MATTO – Macedonia–Türkiye Chamber of Commerce, whose support has been instrumental in the successful organization of this year’s congress
