We are proud to announce that International Balkan University, through our Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Institute of Accountants and Chartered Accountants of the Republic of Macedonia (ISOS), a professional organization dedicated to the development and regulation of the accounting and auditing profession. The memorandum was formally signed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liza Alili Sulejmani, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at International Balkan University, and Ms. Vesna Prentoska, President of ISOS. This important agreement marks a significant step toward strengthening structured collaboration between higher education and the professional accounting sector, reinforcing our mission to provide practice-oriented and high-quality education aligned with contemporary professional standards.
The signing ceremony was attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Lokce, Vice Rector of International Balkan University; Asst. Prof. Dr. Ceneta Telak Durmishi from the IBU Career Center; and Ms. Sonja Miloshevska, Head of the Human Resources Department at International Balkan University. Representing ISOS, the meeting was also attended by Ms. Liljana Kostadinova, General Secretary of the Institute, and Mr. Metin Limani, Member of the Commission for Membership in Domestic and International Institutions. During the meeting, representatives of International Balkan University presented the University’s academic profile, study programs, and strategic objectives, with particular emphasis on recent reforms and developments in accounting education, financial reporting, and human resource management, as well as the central role of the IBU Career Center in supporting internships, career guidance, and cooperation with professional institutions.
Through this partnership, we aim to enhance students’ academic and professional development by creating opportunities for practical experience, joint workshops, expert-led guest lectures, applied research initiatives, and professional training programs. The discussions highlighted that strong accounting knowledge is essential for effective financial management, transparency, compliance with international standards, and informed economic decision-making, while also emphasizing the role of accounting education in developing analytical, ethical, and professional competencies that significantly improve graduate employability. We are proud to collaborate with the Institute of Accountants and Chartered Accountants of the Republic of Macedonia and look forward to a productive and long-term partnership that will support student success, strengthen professional standards, and contribute to the continuous improvement of education and professional practice in accounting and finance.
