The Annual Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the ÜSKÜP Education and Culture Foundation and the Management Board of International Balkan University was held in Istanbul on February 7, 2026. Within the scope of the meeting, the 2025 Activity Report and Financial Reports were presented to the Members of the Board of Trustees by the Rector of International Balkan University, Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar. The presentation offered a comprehensive overview of the university’s academic performance, institutional developments, ongoing and planned projects, and financial management processes. In addition, detailed evaluations were made regarding budget planning and the activity calendar for the upcoming period, while the university’s strategic vision, priorities, and long-term goals were shared with the Board of Trustees.
Significant decisions were taken during the meeting with the aim of contributing to the sustainable growth of International Balkan University and further strengthening its academic and institutional capacity. In this context, the management and supervisory boards for the new term were determined, reinforcing the university’s governance structure in line with its strategic objectives.
In accordance with the meeting agenda, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilal Sucubaşı was elected as President of the Management Board, and the members of the Management Board and the Supervisory Board were elected for the new term. Furthermore, Recep Süleyman Özdil, who had served with great dedication and success as President for many years, was unanimously awarded the title of Honorary President by decision of the Board, in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the foundation and the university.

In recognition of his long-standing service, leadership, and significant contributions to the development of the institution, Recep Süleyman Özdil was officially appointed as Honorary President. This decision was warmly welcomed by both the foundation and the university community, and it was emphasized that Mr. Özdil will continue to support and guide the institution in the new term with his experience and vision.
