We proudly hosted the conference titled “Montenegrin Turks: The Little-Known Natives of Montenegro,” organized by our Department of Turkish Language Teaching at the Faculty of Education, with strong participation from academics and students. Through this significant academic gathering, we once again demonstrated our commitment to exploring diverse cultural identities and enriching scholarly dialogue within our university community. The event provided an important platform for examining underrepresented topics and strengthening our role as an institution that values cultural awareness, historical depth, and intellectual engagement.

The conference was delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Alpay İğci, a faculty member of the Department of Turkish Language Teaching, who presented a comprehensive analysis of the historical background, cultural structures, and current social conditions of Turkish communities living in Montenegro. Through his insightful presentation, we expanded our academic discourse on regional identities and deepened our understanding of the complex social and cultural fabric of the Balkans. Participants gained valuable knowledge about lesser-known aspects of the region, further reinforcing our academic mission to promote research-based learning and critical inquiry.

At the conclusion of the event, we fostered an interactive and dynamic atmosphere through engaging questions and discussions from the audience, transforming the conference into a productive platform for academic and cultural exchange. By organizing such meaningful initiatives, we continue to support interdisciplinary dialogue, encourage scholarly exploration, and strengthen our educational environment. We remain committed to creating spaces where knowledge, culture, and research intersect, contributing to the intellectual development of our students and the broader academic community.
