As part of the course Theory of Foreign Trade, we were pleased to provide our students from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences with an enriching academic experience through a specialized guest lecture delivered by Mr. Veysel Sarach, Managing Partner at Nordvest Consulting. The session was organized under the guidance of Prof. Özkan Baki, whose continuous support ensures that our students engage closely with current professional practices in the field.
The lecture, hosted at BISTLAB, focused on the topic “Accounting Processes in International Trade: Managing Import and Export Operations.” Through a comprehensive presentation, Mr. Sarach introduced students to the essential components of accounting in global trade, covering documentation procedures, calculation of costs, compliance with international regulations, and the financial processes that underpin the movement of goods across borders.
Throughout the session, students were able to explore the structure and flow of import and export operations from an accounting perspective, gaining a clearer understanding of the complexities and responsibilities involved in managing international trade transactions. Special emphasis was placed on practical challenges encountered in real business environments, such as handling discrepancies in documentation, evaluating risk factors, and ensuring adherence to legal and financial standards.
Mr. Sarach further enriched the lecture by sharing professional insights and real-world examples based on his extensive experience in international business consultancy. His case-based approach helped our students bridge classroom theory with practical implementation, strengthening their understanding of the decision-making processes and analytical skills required in modern trade operations.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Veysel Sarach for his time, expertise, and dedication to supporting the professional development of our students. His contribution represents an important step in advancing our mission to connect academic learning with industry-relevant knowledge and to prepare our students for successful careers in the global economic arena.
