About Department

Clinical psychology is an academic and applied psychological discipline that focuses on the study of behavior and mental processes and applies the results of this study to various aspects of individual, group, and community functioning. The description of clinical psychology emphasizes processes related to assessment, testing, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological issues; mental and emotional disorders, as well as behavioral disturbances. In this context, the study program in Clinical Psychology offers a modern approach that combines studies from psychology, psychopathology, and psychotherapy. The program is a synthesis of theoretical perspectives and empirical research findings from these fields. The aim of the program is to prepare students to think theoretically and analytically when considering and solving questions, with the ultimate goal of applying the acquired knowledge. The specific objectives of the study program in Clinical Psychology are as follows: - Providing effective education for knowledge and practice to establish a successful career in the field of clinical psychology. - Providing effective education to maintain competence and competitiveness at an international level in the field of clinical psychology. - Creating conditions for professional growth and acquiring a habit of lifelong learning and development in response to the modern needs of society. Students will be equipped for professional performance of job responsibilities and tasks as specialists in clinical psychology in the educational, public, and private sectors. Students are expected to develop specific research skills to meet the needs of their workplaces. The overall outcomes of the studies will be the knowledge and skills that the student possesses upon completion of the second-cycle study program in clinical psychology, and they are linked to the general Dublin descriptors: knowledge and understanding, application of knowledge and understanding, assessment ability, communication skills, and learning skills.

General Requirements
  • Candidates who have completed higher education, in accordance with Article 135, paragraph 3
  • Have achieved a minimum GPA of 7.00 from their previous higher education (first cycle studies)
  • Students should have valid test scores or pass the English proficiency exams organized by the IBU
  • Candidates who do not achieve a minimum score of 60/100 points need to attend the Preparatory School
