The aim of this course is to give a complete overview of English literature with brief historical and social backgrounds as well as literary overviews of each period studied. A variety of works of prose and verse from the Age of Romantics until now will be studied with a view of the literary, social and political features of the periods they were written. 18th century, The Age of Romantics, Victorian Age, Twentieth Century.
