SHORT BIOGRAPHIES OF THE AUTHORS

Natalija Shikova

Dr. Natalija Shikova is an Assistant Professor at the International Balkan University in Skopje, the Republic of North Macedonia. Her main area of interest is Public law, in particular International Law. She is an author of book, articles and analyses in the related field, and some of them are: “Self-Determination of peoples in the Period of Globalization”, Skopje, Magor, 2009 (book); Articles: Economic Justification of the Secession; Case Analysis of Kosovo’s and Montenegro’s Separation from Serbia, Political Science Forum, Vol. 6, No. 2, Fall 2017; Practicing Internal Self-Determination Vis-a-Vis Vital Quests for Secession; German Law Journal Vol. 17 No. 02, 2016, etc. Except the academic, she has a more than 15 years professional experience in providing assistance to the national and international constituencies as a local and international consultant in the field of human rights protection, development of inter

– ethnic relationships and creation of confidence building measures.

Nikola Dacev

Nikola Dacev is assistant professor at International Balkan University and holds a doctoral degree in legal sciences from the Law Faculty of Law Iustinianus Primus, Skopje. He previously worked in the banking sector, as a legal adviser in the legal affairs department and as a project coordinator for bank insurance; in a law office, as a lawyer and professional representative for industrial property. He has been working as a lecturer at Faculty of Law at International Balkan University since 2015. He published many scientific research papers in the field of law in international and domestic scientific journals and publications. His research activities are focused on insurance legislation, health care legislation, international agreements on e-commerce and many more.

Kire Sharlamanov

Kire Sharlamanov is an Associate Professor at the International Balkan University, author of several articles and several books. His field of interest is sociology, political sociology, figurative sociology.

Bejtulla Demiri

Associate Professor Bejtulla Demiri is a professor at International Balkan University (IBU), Skopje, head of Political Science department in the Faculty Humanities and Social Sciences and President of Senate of IBU. In his career he has worked in different educational institutions, high schools and universities. In 2001 he finished his studies in Political Sciences at University of Sarajevo Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2006, he finished his MA in Sociology, at University Ss Cyril and Methodius, Skopje, and his master thesis was on ’Social deviations and attitudes of Islam religion toward them’. In 2009, he completed his Ph.D. program in Political Sciences at University Ss Cyril and Methodius, Skopje, with his thesis entitled: ‘Some aspects of Islam as political paradigm‘. He has published many papers in the field of political sciences, ethics, sociology and philosophy. He is also author of a book entitled Islam and politics political experience of Muslims (in Macedonian). Since 2010 he has worked at International Balkan University (IBU). His current research is focused on Political Science, Political Philosophy, Ethics, Comparative Politics, Diplomacy and International relations.

Vesna Trajanovska

Vesna Trajanovska is Assistant Professor At International Balkan University -holds a Bachelor of Laws, 2007; a Master degree in Criminal Law Sciences 2010; with her master thesis entitled “Cross-examination” , and a Doctoral degree in Criminal Procedural Law 2016 with her thesis entitled: “Rules of evidence connected with a witness and expert witness in the criminal trails”, from Law Faculty, Iustinianus Primus, "Ss Cyril and Methodius" University, Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. In 2018, successfully accomplished the BAR exam from the Ministry of Justice, Republic of Macedonia. She has long term professional experience in the educational and academic process. She published many scientific research papers in the field of law in international and domestic scientific journals and publications. Her main area of research activities are focused on criminal law, criminal procedure law, rule of evidence.

Vesna Stefanovska

 Vesna Stefanovska, Legal Researcher in the Institute for Human Rights (North Macedonia) and Associate Editor of the professional law journal “Legal Dialogue” published by the Institute for Human Rights. She holds two master degrees in the field of International and Civil Law. In November 2016 she defended the doctoral dissertation entitled as: “Violation of human rights in the process of extradition: A legal perspective” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dennis Farrington and became the first Doctor of Juridical Sciences in SEE University according to the new programme for PhD studies. She conducted several research and faculty visits including the research visit to the Library of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Her main research areas are connected with violations of human rights of the European Convention on Human Rights – jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and violations among the European Union.

Fjolla Kaprolli

Fjolla Kaprolli is a teaching assistant from 2018 at International Balkan University in Skopje and holds a master degree in legal sciences Civil Law study program from Faculty of law in South East European University in Tetovo. She is also a PhD candidate also in Civil Law study program in the same university where she finished the previous cycle. She has also a work experience in law offices. From 2016 until 2018 she worked as a lawyer assistant in two different law offices in Gostivar. She has published scientific research paper in field of civil law in international and domestic scientific journals as well.

Sehare Çako

Sehare Çako is teaching assistant at International Balkan University in the Faculty of Law and holds a Bachelour of law in legal sciences from the Law Faculty of South East European University, Tetovo-Macedonia. After finishing Faculty of law in legal sciences, she holds a master degree-field Penal law in legal sciences from the Law Faculty of South East European University, Tetovo-Macedonia. She previously worked as a teaching assistant in the Faculty of Law at International University of Struga, Gostivar-Struga between 2013-2014 years. During her studying she has worked as lawyer assistant in a law office of Sali Murati Attorney- Gostivar. She has been working as a teaching assistant at Faculty of Law at International Balkan University since 2018. Now she is interested to applicate to the doctoral degree in Faculty of Law in the department of Criminal law. She has gained good communication skills through her experience as an intern at law company and teaching assistant at universities.

Biljana Cavkoska

Biljana Cavkoska is working as full-time Associate professor at the International Balkan University at Faculty of Law. During the 15 years of scientific work, she has published books, chapters in books, scientific and expert articles in Great Britain, Germany, Turkey, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of North Macedonia. She has participated in international conferences worldwide including at Harvard Law School, USA. Her major expertise is in the area of Labor and Social Law and Policy and European Union Law. Courses that she teaches: Company Law, Labor Law, Property Law, Financial Law

Sergej Pazdrijan

Sergej Pazdrijan is a pre-law student at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA. He has finished high school at NOVA Gymnasium in the Republic of North Macedonia. He is expected to graduate in June 2022 as a student who is on Dean's list for the second year in a row. Sergej love for history has already been proven with his great GPA and honor membership in the History Club at OSU.

Betim Ameti

Betim Ameti is a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Law, at International Balkan University Skopje. He lectures, prepares cases, reading materials, and exams, also organize guest lectures and clinical teaching activities. Before entering the academic habitats, worked as an Intern at the Court of Appeals in Gostivar the department of Labour law, Corporate Law, and Civil law for a period of 9 months. Betim also has experience in the Law office and Notary office where he worked as Clerk. He is available always for academic discussions, conferences, and meetings relating to Democracy, Humans Rights, and the Rule of Law

Ljubisha Stefanoski

Ljubisha Stefanoski currently holds the position of Head of Sector for General and Legal Affairs at the Secretariat for European Affairs, Government of the Republic of North Macedonia. He graduated and completed his Master's degree at the Faculty of Law „Iustinianus Primus”. In June 2015 he obtained a Ph.D. degree at the Faculty of Law, University in Nis, Serbia. He has professional experience as a teaching and research assistant at the Faculty of Law „Iustinianus
Primus”, at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje and at the Faculty of the Business Law University of New York in Skopje. As of 2015, he is working as an Assistant professor at International Slavic University "Gabriel Romanovich Derzhavin" and from 2017 as an Assistant professor at the International Balkan University – Skopje. His research activities are focused on Intellectual Property Rights (Industrial Property Rights and Copyright), IT Law, Labor Law and Administrative Law.

Vildan Drpljanin

Vildan Drpljanin (1994) is a legal advisor and project coordinator at the Macedonian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights. He graduated cum laude and was an honors student at Utrecht University, where he specialized in Human Rights as part of the master’s program in Public International Law (LL.M.). He also earned a Double Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property Law (LL.M.) at a program organized by the University of Strasbourg, where he wrote on the conflict between copyright enforcement and freedom of expression and received top of the class honors. Previously, he obtained his LL.B. degree at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje.

Gala Naseva

Gala Naseva is a legal associate currently undergoing joint MA Gender studies at ISSHS, North Macedonia, and Justus Liebig University, Germany. She obtained her Bachelor of Law in 2014, at
the Faculty of Law, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, and her LLM in Intellectual Property Law, CEIPI Institute, Strasbourg University. Naseva has previously worked as a legal consultant for Health Before Profit, Helsinki Committee of Human Rights, USAID (MSI), and ODIHR. She has been working as a legal associate for normative activity in criminal matters at North Macedonia’s Ministry of Justice, primarily working on matters such as gender equality, legal gender recognition, harmonization of the Istanbul Convention with the Criminal Code, transposition of the EU acquis in domestic legislation, the legal framework on domestic violence victims, environmental crimes, etc.

Zlatko Stojanov

Zlatko Stojanov is a Master of law studies – Judicial branch at the Faculty of Law at Goce Delchev University – Stip. He participated in the first and third Scientific Conference " Social Change in the Global World"., as a part of the Center for legal and political research a volunteer from 2012 to 2016 Published a paper in the Student’s social science journal, Issue number 3, called “Ethnic nationalism in the Balkans”, and a paper for the Fifth International Scientific conference " in the section “Young researchers” called “Nations and nationalisms in the Balkans: With a special look at Macedonia”, in 2017. In 2019 he Published a column on the internet portal agora.mk, titled “Conflict of identity”
