Multiplier event: presentation of the project “PARFORCE: Partnership for Virtual Laboratories in Civil Engineering” within ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnerships 2020 for “Digital Education.”
Within the framework of the Erasmus+ strategic partnership for digital education program (2021-2023), a network is created among Bauhaus University Weimar (BUW), Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), University Aveiro (UA), University Osijek (UNIOS), and University Ss. Cyril and Methodious in Skopje, Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology (IZIIS) under the project entitled “PARFORCE: Partnership for virtual laboratories in civil engineering”.
PARFORCE aims at developing a joint platform for digital and virtual laboratory experiments to support European civil engineering higher education and, thus, make an essential contribution to the understanding of teaching materials by students. The main objective of the project is to make various laboratory experiments, which are not a part of standard education at each university but are carried out at specialized institutes, available virtually.
The project objectives and outcomes were presented by Prof. Dr. Roberta Apostolska, project coordinator from the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodious in Skopje, Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology (UKIM-IZIIS).
From the Faculty of Engineering at IBU, 7 lecturers and 14 students, as well as representatives from PARFORCE project partners, 2 from UKIM-IZIIS, and 2 from Bauhaus University Weimer, participated in the event. Students had the unique possibility to immerse themselves in and learn from tailor-made virtual reality experiments in the wind tunnel (Ruhr University, Bochum), fire resistance lab (University of Aveiro), and Dynlab (IZIIS, Skopje).
