PCG 213 – Philosophy of Education; Weekly hours: 2+1, ECTS: 5
The goal of this course is to enable the students to become familiar with the philosophical foundation of the central ideas, topics and issues of the contemporary theory of education. Special attention will be paid to the epistemological and ethical issues on which the entire educational process is based. The course contains the following topics: Introduction to philosophy of education; Knowledge and curricula; Understanding; Indoctrination; Rationality; Self-determination; Needs, interests and experience; Creativity; Culture; Research and teaching; Perspectives of education as theory and practice.
