PR 101 – Communication Skills; Weekly hours: 2+1, ECTS: 5
The goal of this course is to provide undergraduate students with a conceptual framework and specific tools for communicating in complex environments and accomplishing strategic academic and professional goals. The curriculum includes the following themes: An overview of, and introduction to, different communication skills which are necessary for creating positive relational dynamics, as well as for the management of impression and efficiency in various personal and professional contexts. The course is primarily concerned with the development of three sets of generic skills critical to the students’ success in higher education and a successful career afterward. The three sets of skills covered in this course are to do with ‘yourself’, ‘others’ and ‘the interactions between yourself and others’. Students are also introduced to the principles of academic writing and to a range of learning skills.
