Erasmus Student Mobility

Erasmus+ Student Mobility is part of the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme, which supports education, training, youth, and sport across Europe.

What it is:
It enables students enrolled in higher education institutions to study or train abroad in another participating country for a period of two to twelve months.

Types of mobility:

  1. Study mobility: Students attend courses at a partner university abroad and earn credits that count toward their degree at their home institution.

  2. Traineeship mobility: Students complete an internship or work placement abroad, either during their studies or shortly after graduation.

Funding:
Participants receive an EU grant to help cover travel and living expenses, with the amount depending on the destination country and duration of stay.

Main goals:

  • Promote international experience and cultural exchange

  • Improve language and intercultural skills

  • Enhance employability and personal development

  • Strengthen cooperation between European higher education institutions

Eligible countries:
The programme includes EU member states, third countries associated to the programme (North Macedonia, Serbia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Turkiye) and partner countries outside Europe depending on institutional agreements.
