We proudly participated in the event organized by the State School for the Rehabilitation of Children and Youth with Visual Impairment “Dimitar Vlahov” to mark International White Cane Day 2025, a day that highlights the significance of the white cane as a symbol of independence for blind and visually impaired individuals.
Our university was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Igballe Miftari Fetishi, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Asst. Sonaj Bilal from the Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance.
The event was officially opened by H.E. Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, President of the Republic of North Macedonia, and featured an engaging panel discussion on “The White Cane as a Tool for Independent Movement”. The program also included inspiring demonstrations by the students and staff of the school, showcasing the effective use of the white cane in daily life.
The day served as a meaningful reminder of our shared responsibility to foster inclusion, equality, and accessibility in every aspect of society.
As the International Balkan University, we are proud of our ongoing cooperation with the School “Dimitar Vlahov”, established through a Memorandum of Collaboration, and we remain firmly committed to promoting inclusive education and empowering every learner to reach their fullest potential.
