We proudly highlight the meaningful humanitarian engagement of our students from the Nursing Study Programme at the Vocational Medical School, who actively participated in a community-oriented initiative in anticipation of the Easter holidays. Accompanied by their lecturers, we organized a visit to the “Mother Teresa” Elderly Home, where we took part in an Easter bazaar featuring an exhibition of handmade crafts. Through this initiative, we once again reaffirmed our commitment to integrating social responsibility and community engagement into the educational experience we offer at International Balkan University.
During the visit, we created a warm and welcoming environment where our students had the opportunity to interact closely with the residents, engage in meaningful conversations, and share the joy and spirit of the holiday. These moments of connection allowed our students to move beyond theoretical knowledge and experience firsthand the importance of compassion, communication, and human-centered care. By fostering such direct engagement, we continue to support the holistic development of our students, preparing them to approach their future professions with empathy and understanding.
This humanitarian activity holds significant educational value as it contributes to the development of essential professional competencies, including empathy, social awareness, and a patient-centered approach to elderly care. Through initiatives like this, we continue to strengthen our mission of providing quality education that extends beyond the classroom, encouraging our students to become responsible, compassionate, and socially engaged healthcare professionals who are ready to make a positive impact in their communities.
