IBU Strengthens Academic Cooperation with Istanbul University Faculty of Law

We continue to expand our international academic network and strengthen institutional cooperation through a productive meeting held with Associate Professor Dr. Selman Dursun, Director of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology at the Faculty of Law of Istanbul University. The meeting created an important platform for discussing potential areas of collaboration between the IBU Faculty of Law and the Istanbul University Faculty of Law, reflecting our shared commitment to advancing legal education, academic exchange, and interdisciplinary cooperation. Through such initiatives, we continue to reinforce our dedication to building strong partnerships with distinguished higher education institutions in the region and beyond.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged ideas regarding the organization of joint conferences, academic panels, student-oriented conferences, and visiting lecture programs that would contribute to the professional and academic development of students and faculty members. Particular emphasis was placed on creating opportunities for greater interaction between academic communities, encouraging knowledge sharing, and fostering dialogue on contemporary legal issues and developments within the field of law. The discussions also highlighted the importance of collaborative academic environments that support innovation, critical thinking, and international academic engagement.

In addition to short-term academic activities, the meeting also focused on the development of long-term institutional cooperation through joint research projects, faculty and student exchange programs, and collaborative academic publications. These potential initiatives are expected to further strengthen the ties between the two faculties while contributing to the internationalization goals of both institutions. As International Balkan University, we remain committed to establishing meaningful academic partnerships that enhance educational quality, expand research opportunities, and provide our students and academic staff with broader international perspectives and experiences.
