Under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Skopje, and with the support of the Skopje Education Counsellorship of the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye and the Kırklareli Provincial Directorate of National Education, the Turkish Language Festival was held on May 13, 2026, through the cooperation of International Balkan University, Tefeyyüz Schools, and Kırklareli Lüleburgaz Emrullah Efendi Secondary School. In addition to these schools, students from Yaşar Bey Primary and Secondary School in Skopje and Mati Logoreci Primary and Secondary School from Kosovo also presented their performances during the festival.
During the festival, various performances were showcased, ranging from dramatizations of Nasreddin Hodja anecdotes to the performance of folk songs from different regions, from traditional folk dance performances to Karagöz and Hacivat shadow plays, as well as poetry recitations and musical performances. This meaningful gathering brought together Turkish children from different geographies, allowing them to connect with one another and build bridges for the future.
The event was honored by the presence and support of the Rector of International Balkan University, Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar; the Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Skopje, Anıl Kayalar; Lüleburgaz District Director of National Education, Cihan Erdem; President of the Maarif Foundation in Skopje, Osman Demirgül; Deputy Mayor of Lüleburgaz, Gökhan Atay; President of MATÜSİTEB, Tahsin İbrahim; Education Counsellor in Skopje, Ali Rıza Altunel; General Manager of Halkbank Skopje, Fatih Şahbaz; Vice President of the Lüleburgaz Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Şevket Muntaş; and Board Members Mehmet Gül and Ahmet Dervişoğlu.
Following the program, an exhibition featuring artworks prepared by the students of Emrullah Efendi Secondary School, highlighting the beauty of the Turkish language, was officially opened.
