International Balkan University continued to strengthen its international academic presence through active participation in an international academic conference held in Sarajevo on 22 May 2026. Representing our University, Prof. Dr. Bejtulla Demiri delivered a research presentation focusing on the state-building challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina, addressing the ongoing institutional and political developments shaping the country nearly three decades after the Dayton Peace Agreement. Through this important academic contribution, we once again demonstrated our commitment to engaging with critical regional topics and contributing to scholarly discussions that promote deeper understanding of political and social dynamics in the Balkans.
During the conference, academics, researchers, and experts from various institutions gathered to exchange perspectives on contemporary regional issues, international relations, governance, and European integration processes. Prof. Dr. Demiri’s presentation provided valuable insights into the complexities of post-conflict state-building and highlighted the significance of sustainable institutional development, democratic processes, and regional cooperation. By participating in such international academic platforms, we continue to expand IBU’s visibility within the global academic community while fostering meaningful dialogue and intellectual collaboration with scholars from across the region and beyond.
This participation reflects our ongoing dedication to academic excellence, internationalization, and socially relevant research that contributes to regional and European discussions. At International Balkan University, we remain committed to encouraging our academic staff to actively engage in international conferences, research collaborations, and scholarly initiatives that strengthen our institutional impact and support the advancement of knowledge. We believe that such academic engagement plays a vital role in promoting intercultural understanding, critical thinking, and constructive dialogue, further reinforcing IBU’s position as an internationally oriented university dedicated to shaping future generations of scholars and professionals.
