We proudly celebrated International Children’s Day on June 1 through an Interactive Book Reading Workshop organized by the Halkbank Library and the Department of Turkish Language Teaching at International Balkan University. The event welcomed students from Tefeyyüz Primary School and provided a joyful and educational environment where children could discover the power of reading, imagination, and creative expression. Led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Özlem Kurt, the workshop reflected our commitment to fostering literacy, lifelong learning, and meaningful engagement with young learners in our community.
During the workshop, students explored the children’s book “Üç Çok Mu?” through an interactive reading approach designed to encourage active participation and critical thinking. Throughout the session, the children enthusiastically engaged with the story by making predictions, answering questions, sharing their interpretations, and expressing their ideas. This dynamic learning experience allowed them to develop communication skills, strengthen their reading comprehension, and connect with the themes of the book in an enjoyable and memorable way.
Following the reading session, the students participated in a variety of creative and educational activities inspired by the story, culminating in the creation and presentation of their own artworks. These activities provided an opportunity for children to express their imagination while reinforcing the messages explored during the workshop. As International Balkan University, we remain dedicated to supporting initiatives that promote education, creativity, and community engagement, and we sincerely thank the students, teachers, and organizers who contributed to making this celebration of learning, imagination, and childhood a meaningful success.
