We are proud to announce another important achievement in our growing portfolio of international research and innovation initiatives. International Balkan University (IBU) has officially secured funding for the international research project “CLEAR-AI – Cloud Technologies and Artificial Intelligence for Secure Evaluation of Student-Written Essays,” following the signing of a funding agreement between our Rector, Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, and the Minister of Education and Science of North Macedonia, Prof. Dr. Vesna Janevska. This accomplishment reflects our continuous commitment to advancing scientific excellence, fostering innovation, and contributing to the development of transformative educational technologies through international cooperation.
Supported within the framework of the Scientific and Technological Cooperation Programme between North Macedonia and Austria, the CLEAR-AI project will be implemented from 2026 to 2028 and focuses on developing innovative solutions for the reliable, secure, and effective use of artificial intelligence and cloud technologies in education. Led by Prof. Dr. Marija Stevkoska as Principal Investigator, the project will explore new approaches to AI-assisted assessment systems while promoting responsible and trustworthy applications of emerging technologies in academic environments. Through this initiative, we continue to strengthen our position as a research-oriented institution that actively contributes to addressing contemporary challenges in education and digital transformation.
The funding agreement was signed during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Education and Science of North Macedonia, attended by representatives of universities and research institutions. This achievement further reinforces our international research capacity and expands opportunities for meaningful scientific collaboration across borders. As we continue investing in innovative research and interdisciplinary partnerships, we remain dedicated to creating knowledge, supporting technological advancement, and shaping the future of education through impactful projects that benefit both academia and society.
