We proudly inaugurated a three-day, practice-oriented workshop entitled “The Importance of Insurance: From Theory to Regulatory Practice,” organized by BISTLAB | Balkan Economy and Finance Laboratory within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS), in collaboration with the Insurance Supervisory Agency of North Macedonia (ISA). Through this initiative, we continue to expand our commitment to delivering high-quality, applied education by providing our students with a comprehensive understanding of the critical role that insurance plays within contemporary financial systems. By bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world regulatory frameworks, we aim to equip our students with the practical insights and analytical skills necessary for navigating complex financial environments.
The opening session, moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Elena Parnardzieva Stanoevska, Coordinator of BISTLAB, brought together distinguished representatives from both academia and the regulatory sector. We were honored by the welcoming addresses of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liza Alili Sulejmani, Dean of FEAS, and Ms. Ratka Celakovski, Coordinator of the Unit for Research and Development at the ISA, whose contributions emphasized the value of cooperation between higher education institutions and national regulatory bodies. The workshop was formally opened by our Vice Rector, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Lokce, who also presented Ms. Ratka Celakovski with a Certificate of Appreciation, highlighting our strong institutional partnerships and our shared vision of advancing professional competencies in the insurance field.
Through this workshop, we reaffirm our dedication to fostering meaningful collaboration with key industry stakeholders and strengthening the connection between academic excellence and professional practice. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Insurance Supervisory Agency of North Macedonia for its continued support and active role in co-organizing this initiative. As we move forward, we remain committed to creating impactful learning opportunities that empower our students, enhance their career readiness, and contribute to the ongoing development of the financial sector in North Macedonia and beyond.
