Job Description

 Key Responsibilities of IT Unit Office

 

1. System Development and Maintenance:

   - Develop, test, and maintain various web applications and systems used by the university.

   - Ensure the integrity and optimal performance of the university's databases and web platforms.

   - Write clean, scalable code and conduct code reviews to maintain high code quality.

 

2. System Optimization and Troubleshooting:

   - Monitor and troubleshoot IT systems to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime.

   - Perform regular updates and patches to maintain system security and compliance.

   - Optimize system performance and resolve technical issues promptly.

 

3. Network Management:

   - Manage and maintain the university's network infrastructure, including local servers and virtual machines.

   - Set up and manage network security measures such as firewalls and VPNs.

   - Ensure reliable and efficient network access for academic and administrative functions.

 

4. Hardware Maintenance:

   - Install and configure computer systems, servers, and another IT hardware.

   - Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure hardware longevity and functionality.

   - Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware malfunctions and system errors, providing timely repairs or replacements.

 

5. Stakeholder Interaction and Support:

   - Work closely with students, academic staff, and administrative personnel to understand their IT requirements.

   - Provide technical support and training to stakeholders as needed.

   - Document and communicate solutions for recurring IT issues to improve overall efficiency.

 

6. Project Management and Collaboration:

   - Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, planning, development, testing, and deployment.

   - Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful project completion.

   - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and enhance existing systems.

 

7. Security Management:

   - Implement and manage security measures to protect university data and IT systems.

   - Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.

   - Monitor and respond to security incidents to mitigate potential risks.

 

8. User Support and Training:

   - Provide end-user support for hardware and software issues.

   - Conduct training sessions for staff and students on proper usage and maintenance of IT systems.
